Status of Fork

Unfortunately, not a whole lot to report here.  I am waiting for Fragadelic to release the source code to me.  Some of the changes we plan to make, a clear concise open source strategy, all the sources for the GUI and the program itself will be posted on Sourceforge.net and will be released under the GNU GPLv2 just like the Linux kernel.

More plans to come soon and we are all very excited.

  1. That much is true, but Fragadelic is making one more update and then he is turning everything over to us. So we need that source code for the changes he is making.

    2. Hi,
I've been using simple Tar for backup and Live Helper to build custom debian live cd's.. I tried and tried with remastersys and never :.(. succeeded (on Debian wheezy), login fail etc and recent try, can't run installer as sudo owned by uid1000. now no forum either... but lh has worked, though it is more complicated. I wrote a whole page how to set up and get a live iso made with all customised apps, even your panels if you like. have a look..

  3. I use Remastersys to maitain my own projects remasters, many people and projects uses remastersys, like Salineos, Bugtraq and others.

So its very important maitain this soft gui remaster.

I have some binary packets of remastersys.

I visit this blog to see if add news here about this, if i can i try to contribute to this, but my script skills is very basic.

Maybe os4 can provide some tool (gui) with a remaster objective to make xfce, lxde etc based distros.

Thanks to the idea of maitain this tool.

  4. Remastersys should focus on working with large distributions
    with large package bases.
    Therefore, our choice - Debian.
